Description
This patient presented after a significant weight loss of nearly 100 pounds, which resulted in residual macromastiacausing persistent upper back and shoulder pain. Despite her overall weight reduction, the breast volume and ptosis remained functionally and aesthetically problematic.
Her goal was to achieve a small breast size (large A cup) to better align with her new body proportions. During preoperative discussions, she expressed full understanding that a skin resection with visible scarring would be necessary to achieve the desired contour and relief.
A bilateral breast reduction was performed, prioritizing symmetry, projection, and upper pole definition. Postoperatively, she reports complete resolution of her back pain and a significant improvement in comfort and self-image. She has been able to discontinue bra use and is extremely satisfied with both the aesthetic and functional outcomes.
